I finally had spare time to stop on a trip to the lake to hopefully learn more about this cool old building. I took a walk around the grounds snapping some pictures on a perfect bluebird day.
The 186 foot bridge was built in 2008 by the town's Lions Club, and since there is no motor vehicle traffic on the trail, guests checking out the bridge can enjoy it at their own pace.
The famous novelist Sinclair Lewis even once wrote about Inspiration Peak praising "the enchanting peace and seclusion of this place for contemplation".
Even with this statue being in the "middle of nowhere", it still sees visitors from around the world.
