Taylor Swift is set to make over a billion dollars on her Eras Tour, but the experience she gave to one fan from Minnesota is absolutely priceless.
I was lucky enough to attend the Eras Tour Night 2 in Minneapolis and had a marvelous time singing and dancing to all the songs. I had been watching the show via TikTok every single week so I had the setlist memorized and knew that during “22” her team selected someone from the audience to go up to the stage and receive the hat off her head. That person on night 2 was 10-year-old Austin from Owatonna, MN.
As I scrolled TikTok the week following the concert I came across Austin’s video on my FYP thanking Taylor for the hat, and sharing his experience at the show. Not only did he get the hat, he also was invited by Mama (Andrea) Swift to sit in the VIP tent with her to watch the rest of the show. That worked out really well, because Austin was there with his mom and aunt, and originally they had obstructed-view seats, basically behind the stage.
It’s pretty lucky that they had those seats though, because that is how Austin caught Mama Swift’s attention. The seats were near the tunnel where Taylor’s team was coming in and out, and when Andrea and Scott Swift came out to take their seats before the show, Austin caught their attention and traded friendship bracelets with them. Wearing a sparkly Michael-Jackson-inspired jacket helped too I’m sure.
A few songs before “22” a member of Taylor’s team came and asked if they wanted to come to the stage and get the hat, and Austin, his mom, and his aunt all got to go down and experience the best view in US Bank Stadium that night.
