I finally had spare time to stop on a trip to the lake to hopefully learn more about this cool old building. I took a walk around the grounds snapping some pictures on a perfect bluebird day.
Every aisle was another adventure. It was almost like a store of souvenirs that were once for sale at another souvenir shop that went out of business.
It was a picture perfect summer day and there were a handful of other people in the park that exchanged smiles and modest waves as we passed on the path.
Water towers are a staple in a small town skyline. They're often the thing noticed before you can even spot the town.
We are just barely into summer and we have already seen a lot of each other. Lots of trips to the lake during an event-less summer have had us crossing paths more than usual.
The area boasts a rich history of battling Native American tribes, religious missions, fur traders, oxcart trains, and even a population of 600 at its height.
Even with this statue being in the "middle of nowhere", it still sees visitors from around the world.
