Even the North Pole (Prairie) fell victim to the great toilet paper shortage of 2020.
I have been spending a lot of time this year driving between Sauk Rapids and Long Prairie, and it really doesn’t bother me, especially during the holidays.
In the little town of North Prairie between Rice and Upsala there is a house that puts up a super elaborate Christmas light display. I’m not sure who the family is that does it, but there is a huge sign in the yard that says “Merry Christmas from the Schmidt’s”.
I love seeing what new pieces get added every year. The yard is literally filled with decorations and lights so new ones can be hard to spot, but it keeps the hour ride home interesting.
This year, the new thing I noticed was Santa Clause in the outhouse, which isn’t new, but this year he had an empty bag of Charmin toilet paper. Spot on for 2020, and just the laugh we all need this holiday season.
Thank you Schmidt family for creating this winter wonderland every year. You are the brightest spot in that small town this time of year.
